Common Name or Meaning Lendy's Stenotyla [American Orchid Enthusiast and Original Cultivator of species 1800's]

Flower Size 2" [5 cm]

An epiphytic species found on tree trunks in humid montane cloud forests from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua at elevations of 900 to 1700 meters as a small sized, cool to warm growing orchid with no pseudobulbs and a fan-shaped group of basally overlapping, strap-shaped leaves that are keeled dorsally and conduplicate below into the leaf base and blooms in the late spring and summer on a 6" [15 cm] long, erect stalk arising from the leaf axils or the base of the leaf fan carrying a solitary flower held at mid-leaf.
