Bulbophyllum abbreviatum Schltr. 1924

Part shade Warm

Common Name The Abbreviated Bulbophyllum

Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]

This miniature sized, epiphytic species occurs in northeastern Madagascar at elevations of 500 to 1000 meters as a miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte and has globose to conical pseudobulbs with a single, apical, elliptic, petiolate leaf that blooms on a basal few flowered inflorescence holding the flowers in an apical, loose umbel.

CAUTION!!!!!! This species has been wrong for years, the Section Cirrhopetalum plant Bulbophyllum abbreviatum ex Rchb.f Seidenfadden 1973 is not this species and needs to be renamed as a different Bulbophyllum as the name had already been used 50 years earlier, I propose B trigonopus as Reichenbach described it at the same time and then found that they were the same plant and it has no complications within the Bulbophyllum

Synonyms Bulbophyllum ormerodianum Hermans 2007
