A small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte found on deciduous trees or on the ground below them in bright light from Assam to Burma and Thailand to Vietnam in primary montane forests at altitudes of 900 to 1550 meters with ovoid, angular, dark green pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, linear-oblong, obtuse, leaf that blooms in the spring on a basal, ascending, 5 to 10" [12 to 25 cm] long, slender, bracteate inflorescence that arises from an older pseudobulb and has 5 to 10 umbellate, fragrant, hirsute flowers. Does well on treefern or cork mounts in moderate bright light with cool to warm temperatures and water while growing and a lessening as growth matures.
