Found in Aceh Sumatra in mossy forests on montane ridges at elevations of 2300 to 3314 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with tubular pseudobulbs carrying 2, lanceolate and acuminate, 5 nerved, prominent beneath, gradaully narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on a synanthous, erect, peduncle to 3.8" [9.5 cm] long, rachis zig-zag, 1.6 to 2" [4.5 to 5 cm] long, successively few, 5 to 6 flowered inflorescence carrying short-lived flowers.
