Found in Myanamar, Thailand and Vietnam in evergreen and in semi-deciduous and deciduous dry lowland forests and savana-like woodlands at elevations of 500 to 1300 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with ellipsoid, cylindrical, narrow or ovoid pseudobulbs carrying 2 elliptic to oblanceolate, narrow, arched to suberect, petiolate, plicate, acutegradually narrowing below into the grooved petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on a erect, 2 2/5" to 6 2/5" [6 to 16 cm] long, few [4 to 5] flowered inflorescence arsing with a newly emerging pseudobulb carrying persistent floral bracts and simutaneously opening flowers .
