Found in Sabah in northern Borneo in lower and upper montane forests at elevations of 800 to 2200 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing epiphtye, terrestrial or lithophyte with 1.2" [3 cm] between each, elongate-ovoid, slightly compressed, ribbed pseudobulbs enveloped initially by a few fleshy, tubular sheaths and carrying 2, apical, linear-lanceolate, acute, rigidleathery, plicate, 5 nerved, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an eliongate, stout, strongly flattened, and narrowly winged, , narrowly ellitpic in cross-section, 16" [40 cm] long, fractiflex rachis, many flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb and carrying successively opening, wide spreading. flowers
