Common Name The Most-Folded Coelogyne [refers to the deeply plicate leaves]
Flower Size 1.4" [3.5 cm]
Found on the lower slopes of Mount Kinabalu, in Sabah and Sarawak, often in high montane forests at elevations of 1200 to 3400 meters as a small sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with fusiform-cylindric to broadly pyriform pseudobulbs enveloped basally by a few sheaths and carrying a single, apical, linear, oblong-linear or oblong-elliptic, strongly plicate, rigid, erect, coriaceous, gradually narrowing below into the cylindrical, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a sub-erect to arching, slightly fractiflex, 12" [30 cm] long, loosely few flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb.
