Common Name The Leek Green Coelogyne

Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]

Found in the Malaysian penisula, Sumatra, Sulawesi, the Moluccas, and Borneo in hill forests or on mossy clumps in heath forests at elevations of 1000 to 1500 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial orchid with a long creeping to scrambling rhizome, giving rise every .8 to 6" [2 to 15 cm], to a cylindric, tapering towards the apex, yellow pseudobulb carrying 2 apical, plicate, 7 nerved, narrowly elliptical, gradually narrowing below into the grooved petiolate base leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, fractiflex rachis, 4" to 8" [10 to 20 cm] long, few to several flowered, racemose inflorescence that is initially synanthous and sometimes becoming heteronathus by blooming, has deciduous floral bracts and with successive opening flowers that arise out of a new pseudobulb growth occurring in the summer.
