Common Name Vanoverbergh's Coleogyne [Belgian Missionary and Plant collector in the Philippines 1800's]

Found in the Philippines on the island of Luzon at elevations around 1700 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with crowded, tapering pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, plicate, broadly elliptic, acuminate, acute, leathery, shortly petiolate leaves that blooms on a slender, arcuate to pendant, to 8" [20 cm] long, fractiflex rachis, racemose to 6 flowered inflorescence arising on a newly emerging pseudobulb with deciduous floral bracts and simultaneously opening flowers. .
