Found in Penninsular Malaysia, Java, Borneo and Sumatra in lower montane forests at elevations of 1100 to 1400 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with 1 to 3 , elliptic-oblong, shortly acuminate, purple in youth and then light sea-green with darker green blotches, marginally undulate, gradually narrowing below into the petiollate base leaves on somewhat quadrangular and apically narrowed pseudobulbs and then a cylindrical pseudobulb that carries a basal, 10 to 22" [25 to 55 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with the flowers held at the apex and having, long-triangular floral bracts occuring in the summer.
