Common Name The Elegant Coryanthes

Flower Size 3" [7.5 cm]

Found in Colombia, Ecuador and Brazil on the Rio Negro in wet montane forests at elevations of 200 to 700 meters as a medium sized, hot growing, ant supporting epiphyte with elongate, grooved psuedobulbs carrying 2 apical, plicate, petiolate, thin leaves that blooms at any time of the year on a pendant, basal, 10" [25 cm] long, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence with very fragrant short-lived flowers. This is the only Coryanthes found west of the Andes in Ecuador.
