Found in Cocle province of Panama as a medium to large sized, warm growing epiphyte with narrowly oblong to oblong-conical, deeply sulcate pseudobulbs with an apical maroon ring and enveloped in youth by membraneous sheaths and carrying narrowly elliptic to linear-lanceolate, acute, plicate, indistinctly petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late fall and early winter on a pendulous, peduncle greenish maroon, provided with 4, tubularmembraneous, lanceolate bracts, to 12" [30 cm] long, 3 flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carries fragrant flowers.
