Common Name The Corymborkis With Veratrium-Like [An Alpine Plant] Leaves - In Australia - The White Cinnamon Orchid - In China Guan Hua Lan

Found in China, the Ryukyu Islands, Taiwan, Assam, Bangladesh, eastern Himalayas, India, Sri Lanka, Andaman Islands, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Nicobar Islands, Vietnam, Borneo, Java, Lesser Sunda Islands, Moluccas, the Philippines, Sulawesi, Sumatra, Christmas Islands, Bismark Islands, New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Samoa, Santa Cruz Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Caroline Islands and the Mariana Islands as a giant sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial occuring at elevations of sealevel to 2000 meters in lowland to tropical montane forests on limestone in deep shade with plicate, lanceolate to ovate-elliptic, acuminate leaves and blooms in the summer on a drooping, up to 6" [15 cm] long, 2 to 9 flowered, branched inflorescence hidden in leaf sheaths with ovate to lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts carrying a few to many [70], fragrant [early evening] flowers.

In Java vomiting is brought about by chewing on the leaves and swallowing the juice. The act of vomiting is thought to help break a fever. They also treat diarrhea in the same manner.
