Common Name Stumpfle's Cyrtidiorchis [German Orchid Collector in Peru later 1900's]
Flower Size 3/4" [2 cm]
A terrestrial orchid that is found only in Peru at elevations of 1500 to 1800 meters with a dimorphic growth pattern, one growth consists of sterile, caespitose with ovoid, bifoliate pseudobulbs subtended by foliaceous bracts and the other growth has erect, branched, leafy flowering stems with occasional [sometimes not at all] pseudobulbs that are distantly placed. The inflorescence is short to 2" [to 5 cm] and carries a single flower that occurs in the summer in Peru.
