Found in Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama in wet tropical forests at elevations around 1200 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with cylindrical pseudobulbs enveloped by clasping leaf sheaths and carrying conspicuously nerved, plicate, ovate-lanceolate leaves that blooms in the summer on a pendant, 12" [30 cm] long, to 12 flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb.
