Found in Mauritius and Madagascar on wet rocks bordering streams and river margins at elevations of 570 to 2000 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial or lithophyte with 4 to 5, lanceolate leaves that blooms in the summer through fall on a laxly, 9 to 13 flowered inflorescence.
