Found in northwestern Madagascar in grasslands and open dry forests on calcareous rocks in leaf detrius at elevations of 250 to 2000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with 2, ovate, prostrate ont he substrate leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on an erect, many flowered inflorescence

The orchid in the photo above is Cynorkis tryphioides var. leandriana (H.Perrier) Bosser 1969 and differs from the typ in the shape of the short, tri-lobed lip, the shpe of the rostellum and it's much larger leaves.
