Found in southern Chiapas Mexico to Guatemala in coniferous forests at elevations around 1500 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial orchid with pilose, elongate stems carrying plicate, elliptic-lanceolate, obtuse to acuminate, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on a terminal, successively single to six flowered inflorecence with foliaceous floral bracts
