Found in southwestern Sichuan, northwestern Yunnan, provinces of China and in northeastern Myanmar in open forests at elevations around 2600 to 3500 meters as a miniture sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect, short stem enveloped by 2 tubular sheaths and carrying 2, adpressed to the ground, subopposite, ovate, obovate to suborbicular, dark green, heavily spotted with black-purple above leaves that blooms in the spring to early summer on a short, terminal, single flowered inflorescence
