Occurring in Java, Sumatra, Malaysia, Thailand, penninsular Malaysia and Borneo at elevations of 700 to 2700 meters in lower montane, primary, evergreen, broad-leafed forests as a miniature to small sized, warm to cold growing leafless saprophytic herb with a stout, erect rhizome with several spreading cylindrical fleshy roots and carrying several, erect, branched, often curved stems with numerous scale leaves and blooms on a terminal, elongating inflorescence with successive, nonresupinate flowers
