Found in the Caucasus and Turkey in full sun to mid shade in short grasslands, damp meadows and fens at elevations of 850 to 2900 meters as a miniature to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a green stem often with violet streaks and carrying 3 to 6 cauline, near erect, unspotted, lanceolate to elliptic-oblong leaves that blooms in the later spring and summer on an erect, 1 to 2" [2.5 to 5 cm] long, densely several flowered inflorescence with the lower bracts longer than the flowers.
