Common Name Fuchs' Dactylorhiza [German Professor 1500's] - Common Spotted Orchid - In China Zi Ban Zhang Lie Lan

Found in Iceland, Ireland, Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Spain, France, Corsica, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, Italy, Yugoslavia, Romania, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Most Russia, Western Siberia and Mongolia in forest, grasslands and valley at elevations of 900 to 2300 meters as a small to medium sized, cold to cool growing with a sometimes slightly hollow, grooved stem carrying 7 to 12, ovate-oblong, to lanceolate-elliptic, purple spotted leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an erect, 1.6 to 4" [4 to 10 cm] long, terminal, densely many [20 to 50] flowered, cylindrical, racemose inflorescence with leaflike bracts.
