Common Name Alexandra's Dendrobium [Wife Of Schlechter]

Flower Size 2 to 3" + [5 to 7.5 cm+]

Found in Papua and New Guinea as a medium to large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte on moss-covered trees in cool mist forests at elevations of 1000 to 1200 meters in high light with stems carrying 2 to 3 apical, elliptic, bluish-green, erct or spreading leaves blooming on an axillary, racemose, laxly, several flowered inflorescence arising from the nodes at the apex of the psuedobulb occuring in late fall and early winter. Can be mounted or grown in a pot as long as excellent drainage is provided, a moderate lessening of water and fertilizer is advisable in short day conditions of temperate-latitude winters.
