Fragrance Part ShadeHotSpring

Common Name Aporum-Like Eria

Flower Size 1/4" [6 mm]

Found in the Philippines, Celebes and New Guinea in lowland forests as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte at elevations up to 1000 meters with erect stems carrying imbricating, overlapping, fleshy leaves arranged in alternate 2 ranks that blooms on a short, single flowered inflorescence arising from the leaf axils, with 4, large, orange bracts at the base of the fragrant flowers occuring in the spring.

THis species and Eria decipiens are proposed as a new genus as they are unique in Eria for not having psuedobulbs and having laterally flattened leaves like Section Aporum of Dendrobium and stems which carry single flowered inflorescence subtended by 4 large, orange to yellow floral bracts.
