Found in New Guinea at elevations around 1100 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with a simple, subterete, leafy stem carrying erect-patent to patent, glabrous elliptic-lanceolate, subacute leaves that blooms in the late fall and early winter on a lateral, very short, subsessile, 2 flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are brownish with red brown lateral lobes of the lip, a white column and an orange-yellow spot at the apex.
