Flower Size .6" [1.5 cm] long

Found in New Guinea, the Bismark Archipelago, the Solomon Islands, Samoa, Santa Cruz Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu and Wallis and Futna islands in mangroves to montane forests at elevations of sea level to 850 meters as a large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with clustered, ribbed, pendulous, yellow green turning maroon with age stems carrying deciduous, distichous, coriaceous, ligulate to oblong-lanceolate, acute, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on several lateral, from nodes on the leafless stems, to .8" [2 cm] long, densely 10 to 18 flowered inflorescence
