Part Shade Warm Fall

Common Name The Closed Dendrobium

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in New Guinea on trees in montane forests at elevations around 1200 meters as a small to medium szied, warm growing epiphyte with slightly flattened, erect to spreading pseudobulbs carrying many spreading, elliptic leaves that blooms in the fall on a very short, 2 flowered inflorescence carrying short lived flowers.

I am very unsure of this determination within the section Grastidium. All available references state that this flower is mostly cleistogamus and that they are 2 per inflorescence pale yellow with an orange spot at the base of the column foot. Does not match Schlechter's drawing and lastly was sent in from Sulawesi which no one gives that location.

Synonyms Grastidium clausum (Schltr.) Rauschert 1983
