Common Name The Constricted Dendrobium

Flower Size .3" [.8 cm]

Found in the Bismark Islands and in Papua New Guinea just below the mist forests on mossy trees at elevations around 700 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with a suberect, cylindrical, leafy stem carrying, erect-patent, ligulate, oblique leaves that blooms in the fall on a 1.2 to 1.4" [3 to 3.5 cm] long, densely many flowered, racemose inflorescence with ovate, apiculate bracts.

This species is very similar to D capituliflorum but differs in the longer mentum, more pointed sepals, sharper, serrate petals and the shape of the lamina of the lip and the fact that the lip apex is fringed,
