Found in Borneo near Mt Kinabalu in lower to upper montane mossy forests at elevations 1500 to 2900 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with small, cylindric pseudobulbs enveloped by imbricating, basal, scarious becoming fibrous sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, narrowly lanceolate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a terminal, erect, longer than the leaf, 6" [15 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence
