Found in New Guinea at elevations around 900 meters as a large sized, warm growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to simple, slightly compressed, arcuate stems carrying many, erect-patent, glabrous, narrowly lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on lateral, compressed, short, 2 flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers arepale yellow, closely red spotted with the labellum white at the apex.
