Common Name Fytch's Dendrobium [English General in Burma 1800's]

Flower Size 1.2 to 2" [3 to 5 cm]

Found in Burma and Malaysia in exposed locations on trees overlooking river at elevations of 46 to 610 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with slender, erect, cylindrical stems that branch repeatedly and new growths carry many leaves which are decidous and lanceolate and blooms in the spring and summer on an erect to arching, terminal, 8" [20 cm] long, few to several [5 to 15] flowered inflorescence that arises from at or near the apex of the stem. This species has one of the prettiest flowers of the small flowered Dendrobium and is used in the cut flower trade as they have longlasting flowers.
