Common Name or Meaning Gjellerup's Dendrobium [Danish Orchid Collector 1800's]

Flower Size to almost 1" [to 2.5 cm]

Found in western New Guinea as a spindly caned, hot growing epiphyte at elevations around 50 meters clustered, flattened and elongate4d canes carry many, lanceolate, warty on top leaves that are atteneuate to warty sheaths that have a pronounced tooth and blooms in the winter on a short, several flowered inflorescence that has warty bracts along the leafless cane and glisteny flowers that last a single day. This plant blooms 1 to 2 weeks after a sudden temperature drop.
