Found in New Guinea at elevations around 1000 meters as a large sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a very short rhizome giving rise to simple, compressed, densely leafy stems carrying suberect, glabrous, coriaceous, elliptic-ligulate to elliptic, obtuse, contracted belo winto the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the early summer on an axillary, short, compressed, subsessile 2 flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are white, the papillae at the base of the lip are orange red and the column is yellow with a darker striped foot.
