Found in The Andaman Islands, Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra, Java and Borneo in low stature hill forests at elevations of 800 to 1000 meters as a large sized, hot to warm, pendent growing epiphyte with sometimes branching stems carrying many laterally flattened, acute, imbricate, triangular, smaller towards the base leaves that blooms in the late spring on an axillary, short, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence
