Found in New Guinea in forests at elevations around 1200 to 2700 meters as a large sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with elongate, flexuous, glabrous, slighly compressed canes carrying suberect, ovate, obtuse, sub-carinate, subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on a subsessile, short, 2 flowered inflorescence
