Found in Thailand, penninsular Malaysia and Sumatra at elevations around 1000 to 1700 meters as a medium to large sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with spotted, almost globose becoming narrow above, then thickened and fleshy and becoming narrow and cylindrical near the apex stem carrying many, linear-lanceolate, strongly acuminate leaves that blooms in the late spring on a short, 2 to 4 flowered inflorescence arising from near the apex of the stem
