Found in the Philippines at elevations around 350 meters as a small to medium sized, erect to semi-pendulous, hot growing epiphyte with basally slender, gradually becoming clavate, many noded, non branching, leafy apically stem carrying usually 2, narrowly to broadly lanceolate, not leathery, glossy, sessile leaves that blooms on single flowered inflorescence arising along the stem always on the swollen portion.

Similar to D bicolense but this one differs in the single ridger on the labellum and the acute lip apex.
