A large sized, cool to hot growing epiphytic species from The Philippines in lowland forests at elevations up to 600 meters with slender, swollen in the middle and tapering at both ends, greenish olive or reddish brown, ridged pseudobulbs carrying dark green, almost terete leaves tapering to a thread-like point that blooms on an axillary, short to 1.6" [to 4 cm], single to 2 flowered inflorescence with short-lived fragrant flowers that arises from the tufted bracts of the leaf axils at or near the apex of the cane either with or without the leaves occuring in the late spring and summer. Aloow this species to dry out between waterings in the winter but not for long, fertilizer should be eliminated completely until new growth is initiated in the spring.
