Common Name or Meaning Lobb's Dendrobium [Thomas Lobb, English Orchid Collector in SE Asia 1800's]

Flower Size .4 wide to .6" long [1 wide to 1.5 cm long]

Found in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Java, Sumatra, Borneo, New Guinea, Sulawesi, Solomon Islands, the Philippines, and northern Australia along streams in sand, swampy habitat, or in shallow water ditches at elevations of 100 to 1400 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with terete, thin, densely clustered canes that are completely covered in fine brown to black hairs and carrying grass-like, linear, positioned parellel and close to the stem, apically, bilobed and unequal, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on an axillary, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence arising on leafy canes and carrying downward facing flowers.
