Common Name The Military Erect Dendrobium

Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found on Ternate of the Moluccas Islands in montane forests at elevations around 1500 meters as a medium to large sized, cool growing epiphtye with a creeping rhizome giving rise to slender, cane-like, flexuous above stems carrying lanceolate, subacute to rounded, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the spring on several, lateral, from the middle of the stem to the apex, opposite the leaf bases, [8 to 12 cm] long, 4 to 6 flowered inflorescence.

Cribb makes mention that the flowers are small, yellow and with white inside, he is not sure if this means the lip or something else but this photo does have whitish lobes of the lip apex

CAUTION The photo does not give enough details to show if the flower above matches the lip drawing in Cribb 1992, so please use with caution!
