Found in southern India and Sri Lanka in tropical lower montane forests and evergreen rainforests at elevations around 1800 to 2000 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte with tufted, ovoid, pseudobulbous swelling stems carrying 2 to 4, distichous, linear-oblong, acute leaves that blooms in the later spring through mid fall on an erect, slender, 2 to 6 flowered inflorescence that arises from near the apex of the stem and carrying short-lived flowers that often do not open well.
