Common Name The Virginal Dendrobium - refers to the greek goddess Athene Pathene

Flower Size 2.5" [6.4 cm]

This species is a large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte that occurs in Sabah, Borneo in the Mt Kinabalu area in hill or lowland forests along streams at elevations of 600 to 1100 meters with an erect stem with many short, ovate-oblong, distichous leaves with two apical teeth and bloom in the fall on many, 2" [5 cm] long, 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence that arise in between the leaves all along the stem with showy flowers.
