Common Name or Meaning The Pedicelled Dendrobium

Flower Size .5" [1.25 cm]

Found in Sumatra in montane forests at elevations of 1300 to 2900 meters as a just large sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect stems carrying carrying lanceolate, acuminate, obliquely acute leaves that blooms fall and winter on .4 to .6" [1 to 1.5 cm] long, 4 to 12 flowered inflorescence arising on leafless stems and with lanceolate floral bracts.

CAUTION I have no way of personally verifying this determination so please use with caution!

D comberi is said to be synomonous with Dendrobium pedicellatum J.J.Sm. 1908 by Kew but I await further verification. Seems to me that D comberi blooms in the spring on leafless canes and D pedicellatum blooms in the winter and fall on leafy canes. I am not sure if there are distinct floral differences as I do not have good enough photos to ascertain similarities or distinctions, if they are synomonous then D pedecellatum takes precedence!!!!
