Common Name or Meaning Putnam's Dendrobium

Found in Papua New Guinea in deep shade on tree trunks, cliff faces and on rocks at elevations around 2100 to 3000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte and lithophyte with a creeping rhizome giving rise to minute, cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying 1 to 2, towards the apex, lanceolate, erect-spreading leaves that blooms in the spring on a very short, 1 to rarely 2 flowered inflorescence
