Found in Sumatra at elevations around 1500 meters as a miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with close set, oblong-oval, apically narrowing pseudobulbs carrying lanceolate, apically narrowing, basally contracted into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on a slender, blackish pilose, many [14 to 16] flowered, racemose, 5" [to 12.5 cm] long, curved, angled, narrowly winged inflorescence arising on an immature pseudobulb.
