Found in Western New Guinea at elevations around 1500 meters as a warm growing epiphyte, terrestrial or lithophyte with greenish brown, clustered, grooved stems that are swollen in the apical part carrying, 2 to 4, apical, leathery, rounded apically, dark green, elliptic-oblong leaves that blooms on a terminal, 11 to 15" [27.5 to 35 cm] long, several [10] flowered racemose inflorescence with long-lasting, wide open flowers.
