Common Name or Meaning The Star-Carrying Dendrobium
Flower Size .6" [1.5 cm]
Found in Sumatra in montane forests at elevations around 1700 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with ovate basally becoming terete apically pseudobulbs carrying almost terete, thin, channeled leaves held towards the middle of the terete apical portion of the pseudobulb that blooms on very short single flowered inflorescence arising from near the apex of the terete stem-like part of the pseudobulb.
The flower in the picture is not open so it is impossible to say with certainty that this is truely D stellidiferum but the plant matches the descriptions very well.
Synonyms Aporum stelidiiferum (J.J.Sm.) Rauschert 1983; Ceraia stelidiifera (J.J.Sm.) M.A. Clem. 2003
