Found in Java and Sumatra in deep, moist shade at elevations around 500 to 1800 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with thick, ribbed, quadrangular pseudobulbs giving rise to an elongate, thin, wiry, occasionally branching stem carrying linear, minutely and unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the summer on short, successively single flowered inflorescence arising from near the apex of leafy and leaflless stems.
