Found in New Guinea and the Solomon Islands at elevations around 1100 meters as a large to giant sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to simple, strict, terete stems carrying many, erect-patent to subpatent, close set, glabrous, shiny-varnished, linear-lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the summer on lateral, compressed, short, 2 flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are snow white, the lip and column are brownish yellow at the base
