Common Name The Grass-Like Leaved Dendrobium

Flower Size .6" [1.5 cm]

Found in Thailand, Malaysia and Borneo in decaying leaf litter of hill and lower montane forests at elevations of 500 to 1700 meters as a large sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with an erect, sometimes branching, slender, wiry stem carrying many, linear-lanceolate, ridged, channeled, incurved along the margin, unequally bilobed apically, 2 ranked leaves with spotted and black hair covered leaf sheaths that bloom in the late winter on a short, single flowered inflorescence and carrying pendulous flowers

Almost all references out there make this species Dendrobium villosulum Wall. ex Lindl. but new research done by Wood 2014 shows that D villosulum as a separate species with a habit of D gramineum but the lip is unique to the SECTION Conostalix as it is trifurcate so it occurs only on Pinang Island in Malaysia.
